JoAnn Marie Taylor, nee Wille, born Feb. 12, 1930, in East St. Louis, Ill., died on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at her residence in Swansea, Ill.
"Jo" was a homemaker who worked at home raising her five children and later working at the Carriage House Restaurant in Downtown Belleville and working with her other "family" at Grimm and Gorly Florist of Belleville, Ill.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Goldie nee Carrigan, Wille; sisters, Catherine (Lowell) Davis, Rachel (Merrill) Russell and Betty (Ray) Qualls; and a nephew, Thomas Russell.
Surviving are her daughters, Pat Stephens of St. Louis, Mo., Catherine Taylor (Greg) Yank of Lebanon, Ill., Debbi (Kent) Scharf of Belleville, Ill., and Sherri (Curt) Reno of Swansea, Ill.; and a son, Rick (Theresa) Taylor of Belleville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a niece, Shirley (Kenny) Riester of Fairview Heights, Ill.; and nephews, Bob (Laura) Davis of Dallas, Texas, Bill (Margie) Davis of Blacksburg, Virginia, and John Qualls of Smithton, Ill.; a large extended family and dearest friends at Grimm and Gorly Florist in Belleville, Ill.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Private interment services will follow.
