Joan New, 87, of Troy, IL, she was born Wednesday, November 21, 1934 in Silver Point, TN and she passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Memorial Hospital Belleville, IL.

Joan was a member of Collinsville Church of Christ where she was active and enjoyed the Bible Study classes.  She retired from Scott Credit Union after many years of service.  She always enjoyed a bowl of ice cream and her Liberty Square family.  Her family was the loves of her life and was always happy spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis N. New whom she married December 6, 1952 and he passed away on July 12, 1985; a son, Robert D. New; her parents, Ward and Lydia (nee Carter) Herrin; and her sister, Frances Auld.

Surviving are her son, Daniel (Liana) New of Troy, IL; grandchildren, Joanna Couture and David New; great-grandchildren, Clara and Estelle Rosenbarger and Archer Katunich; and her daughter-in-law, Peggy Walsh of Milstadt, IL

Memorial services will be held at 5 pm on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Richeson Funeral Home with Terry Mabery officiating.  Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
