Jerrylene V. Lype, 92, of Troy, IL, born Saturday, April 12, 1930 in New Orleans, LA and passed away on July 4, 2022 in Farmington, MO.

Jerry was a long time member and organist for many years at Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, IL.  She retired from the Mitchell School District.  Jerry enjoyed traveling with the "Friends" group in Troy, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Cartwright Lype Jr. whom she married February 9, 1952 and he passed February 7, 1992; her parents, Bob Hollis and Myrtis (nee Hardin) Benton; and her sister-in-law, Wanda Benton.

Surviving are her children, Bob H. (Cathleen) Lype of Farmington, MO and Jefferson Cartwright "Jeff" (Mary Kay) Lype III of Shiloh, IL; grandchildren, Corinne (Michael) Beckett, Chrissy (Dan) Broeckling, Dan (Melissa) Lype and Thomas (Kate) Lype; great-grandchildren, Reese Beckett, Sam and Zoey Broeckling and Lucy Lype; her brothers, Bill (Pat) Benton, George Benton and Bob (Betty) Benton; and her sister Melba (James) Douglass all of MS.; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 am on Friday at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL with Rev. Tim Lewis officiating.  Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
