Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Jerry R. Ward, 59, of St. Jacob, Ill., born Oct. 27, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at Barnes Jewish Hospital.
Jerry retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant after serving 20 years. He was a member of the St. Jacob Park Board, St. Jacob American Legion serving as the adjutant, past American Legion District 22 Commander, finance officer for the 5th district American Legion and past president of the St. Jacob Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice M., nee Morrow, Ward.
Surviving are his wife, Conny Ward of St. Jacob, Ill.; children, Charles Ward of St. Jacob, Ill., and Katelyn Ward of St. Charles, Mo.; father, Charles R. Ward of Claycomo, Mo.; brother, William H. Ward of Claycomo, Mo.; and sisters, Patricia Diane of Denver, Colo., and Charlotte A. D'Ambrosia of San Diego, Calif.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at St. Jacob United Church of Christ, St. Jacob, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at St. Jacob United Church of Christ with Rev. Gary Kniepkamp officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
