Jerald Dean Schneider, 78, of St. Jacob, Ill., born Jan. 27, 1936, Rogers, Ark., passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at his home.

Jerald graduated from Rogers High School and attended college in Arkansas. He served as an Army combat training officer in the United States Army from August of 1962 to August of 1964. He had many different jobs throughout his career. He was a certified master electrician and plumber, heavy equipment operator, oil well tester, over-the-road truck driver, school bus driver and also worked for IDOT on the highway department.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason; parents, Otto D. and Lavetta B., nee Hopper, Schneider; and siblings, Leroy Schneider and Evetta Beman.

Surviving are his best friend and partner, Bonnie Dobrinich of St. Jacob, Ill.; children, Jerry (Cindy Lobe) Schneider, Kathy Taylor, Bobby Joe Schneider, Paula Morris, Susan (John) Kautzer and Edie (Bill) Bridges; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jerald's wishes were for no visitation or services. Burial will be at Keystone Cemetery in St. Jacob, Ill.
