Jeffery Wayne Bettorf, 52, of Collinsville, Ill., born July 12, 1956, in Granite City, Ill., died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Bettorf was a steel worker and union representative for Local 50 United Steel Workers of America. He enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, Lynn, family and friends aboard their boat the Diamond Lynn. He was a life long die hard democrat "Go Obama." Jeffery also enjoyed hunting, fishing and the family farm in Carlyle, Ill. He was a member of Harbor Point Yacht Club and Granite City Moose Lodge.
Jeffery was preceded in death by his father, William D. Bettorf Sr.
Surviving are his wife, Lynn M., nee Elliott, Bettorf; son, Ryan Bettorf of Collinsville, Ill., daughters, Kelly (Ryan) Hoelting of Collinsville, Ill., Katie (Dave) Luyster of Collinsville, Ill., and Brooke Bettorf of Collinsville, Ill.; a grandchild, Mackenzie Luyster; his mother, Doris M., nee Lockhart, Bettorf of Collinsville, Ill.; brothers, Tim (Jamie) Bettorf of Troy, Ill., and William (Whitney) Bettorf Jr., of Lebanon, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at the funeral home with Doug Pascoe officiating. Interment will be in Buck Road Cemetery in Maryville, Ill.
