Jason Brian Bozeman, 35, of Swansea, IL, born Feb. 6, 1977 in Shreveport, LA, passed away on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 in Belleville, IL.
Brian loved his son Grant, whom he affectionately called Buster Brown, more than anything in this life. He was Brian's greatest and most precious accomplishment and his "Mini Me." The two of them enjoyed fishing, golfing, Cardinals baseball, being silly, and eating Red Beans and Rice together.
Brian was valedictorian of his graduating high school class and received his BS in Criminal Justice, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Lindenwood University. He was smart, extremely witty, had an infectious laugh, and was a major sports fanatic.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Melvin Bozeman and Kenneth Grainger.
Surviving are his son, Grant Logan Bozeman, of Maryville, IL; parents, Gary Bozeman of Swansea and Beth Bozeman Adams of Joplin, MO and his mother, Janet Mitchell Hopkins; brother,Zachary Bozeman of Swansea, IL; sisters, Rachel Bozeman-Leavitt of Shreveport, LA, Lindsey Bozeman of St. Louis, MO, Haley (Caleb) Hopkins Shelton of Monroe, LA; Grant's mother,
Jaime Lynn Schaefer of Maryville, IL; grandparents, Jennie Bozeman of College Station, TX, Jeanette Grainger of Shreveport, LA, Howard and Margie Mitchell of Shreveport, LA; nephews, Landon and Roman Leavitt, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grant Logan Bozeman Scholarship Fund through the funeral home.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 at Laughlin~Richeson Funeral Home
in Troy, IL and 10 to 11 am Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, IL.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday at the church with the Rev. Jim Wiens officiating. Interment in Frieden's Cemetery, Troy, IL.
