Mrs. Janice M. Lewis, (nee: Jentsch), 85, born March 19, 1921 in East St. Louis, Illinois, died September 25, 2006 at Eden Village Retirement Center, Glen Carbon, Illinois.
Mrs. Lewis lived in Troy, Illinois since 1961. Prior to moving to Troy she lived in Yuma, Arizona, East St. Louis, Illinois and Collinsville, Illinois. Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and an Award Winning Artist. She worked for Peace Officers Press in Troy, Illinos for a short time. Mrs. Lewis was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Troy, Illinos, Silver Pens, Masquers Theater Group in Collinsville, Illinois, and LWML.
Mrs. Lewis is preceded in death by her parents Jule and Georgia (nee:Owens) Jentsch, her husband Frank C. Lewis whom she married October 17, 1939 and passed away August 4, 1997, a son Gene Lewis passed away in 1989, two brothers Owen and Dene Lewis, one sister Mary Alice Long, and one great grandson Neal Mosher.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by one son Kerry Lewis of Price Place, Arkansas, three daughters Mrs. Carol (William) Jones of Troy, Illinois, Mrs. Alice Anderson of Troy, Illinois, Mrs. Wendy (Rick) Kossakoski of Troy, Illinois, 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Janice M. Lewis will be held on Friday, September 29, 2006 at Laughlin Funeral Home with Pastor Darwin Schrader officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
