Jane Francis Fisher, nee Voelker, of Troy, Ill., born Jan. 2, 1923, in Troy, Ill., died on March 3, 2009, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Mrs. Fisher was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church where she was church secretary, sang in the choir and taught a woman's bible class. Presently she was a member of the Meadow Heights Baptist Church and taught women's class and sang in the choir. She was a Post Region IV Illinois Hospital associate, chairman, president of Anderson Hospital Auxiliary, treasurer and secretary for Life Line and conducted the Chaplaincy Program for eight years. She was an emeritus member of the auxiliary. She was civic minded and was a member and chairman of the Troy Zoning Board of Appeals.
Mrs. Fisher wrote the Troy news for the Collinsville Herald for several years and wrote for the Times Tribune in the column "As I Recall." She worked for Civil Service in many capacities at the Federal Building, The Record Center and Aeronautical Chart Plant in St. Louis, Mo. She then retired from Scott AFB Comptroller Division, HQ MAC after 28 years of service.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Fisher; father, Frank A Voelker; mother, Vera A., nee Dillingham, Voelker; her first husband, Ernest A. Jarvis; sister, Dorothy Donna; and great-grandson, Bryce W. Crews.
Surviving are her four children, John (Glynda) Jarvis, Paul (Sue) Jarvis, Nancy Jarvis and Alan Jarvis; eight grandchildren, Natalie Hall, Nathan (Amie) Rowe, Amanda (Brandon) Crews, Adam Jarvis, Abbie Jarvis, John R. Jarvis, Laura (Mark) Schlemmer and Nicholas Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Gaige A. Bailey, Paighton Jane Hall, Sierra and Makenna Schlemmer, Blake and Bradon Rowe and Kayden Crews; nephew, Gerald (Janice) Donna of Kansas City, Mo.; niece, Bobbette (Jerry) Helmich of Scottsdale, Ariz.; brother-in-law, Larry Donna of Overland Park, Kan.; and sister-in-law, Betty West of Pekin, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Meadow Heights Baptist Church, New Building Fund.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville, Ill., with the Rev. Dr. James Donahue officiating. Burial will be at the Friedens Cemetery in Troy, Ill.
