Obituary

James Leland Deeren, 78, of Troy, Ill., born Nov. 28, 1929, in Taylorville, Ill., died Friday, June 20, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Deeren was a financial analyst at St. Louis Union Trust, owner and operator of Christian Wolf, Inc., and a U.S. Marine Corp veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bertha, nee Prater, Deeren.

Surviving are his wife, Audrey, nee Ottwein, Deeren; two daughters, Deborah Jane (Kevin) Wiese of Troy, Ill., and Carrie Lee (Gary) Metze of Troy, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Kathryn Wiese, David Wiese and Kyle Metze.

Memorials may be made to Spencer Animal Shelter, Friedens United Church of Christ, or Eden United Church of Christ Bell Choir.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home Chapel, Troy, Ill.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home Chapel, Troy, Ill., with Rev. Scott Hawker officiating. Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
