Obituary

James Thomas Brown, age 48, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away March 7, 2003 at Depaul Medical Center in Bridgeton, Missouri. Mr. Brown was born in Highland, grew up in St. Jacob, and graduated from Triad High School in 1972. After attending a semester at Southern Illinois University, he joined the US Navy, where he honorably served for 11 years. While in the Navy, he was awarded several citations, including the National Defense Service Medal, two Good Conduct Awards, and the Navy and Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal. He was currently employed as a large systems computer analyst at a mail distribution company. He particular enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Emery Brown and Margaret Evaline (Newell) Brown from St. Jacob.

He is survived by two brothers, Chief William C. (Marla) Brown of Troy and Robert M. Brown of Edmonds, Washington; a sister Virginia (David) Johnson of St.Jacob, Illinois; two nephews, Andrew Johnson and Charles Brown; a niece, Jennifer Brown; and many cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation or to the charity of one's choice and may be accepted at the funeral home.
