Jack Dennis Van Hoose, 70, of Collinsville, IL, born November 1, 1947 in Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
Jack was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, IL. He graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1965. He served four years in the U.S. Navy before beginning his 42 year career at Ameren Union Electric's Sioux Plant where he worked as a Unit Control Operator, Electrical Journeyman and Tool Repairman.
Jack enjoyed spending time with his kids and their families, working in the yard, and fishing. There was nothing mechanical or electrical that he could not fix. He took great pleasure in using his skills to help family, friends and his church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry J. and Nellie (nee Potter) Van Hoose; and a brother Henry D. Van Hoose; and an infant sister, Donna Mae Van Hoose.
Jack is survived by his wife and best friend of 46 years, Reva Louise, (nee Montgomery), and was extremely loving and proud of his three children, Robert (Marion) Van Hoose of Rolla, Missouri; Judith (Thomas) Warchol of Skokie, Illinois; and, Steven (Amy) Van Hoose of Troy, Illinois. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Timothy, Thomas, Katherine, Iris, Audrey and Henry; sister-in-law, Jeanne Van Hoose of Carlisle, IL; as well as his many wonderful nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friedens United Church of Christ with the Rev. Douglas Seagle officiating. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL
