Irene Maden Hall, 91, of Troy, born March 16, 1925 in Zeigler, Ill., died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017 at her residence.

Irene was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, Ill. She was an avid sports fan, loved watching her son-in-law coaching and her children, grand children and great-grandchildren participate in their many sporting activities.. Irene played fast pitch softball and was fondly know as the "Blonde Bomber" by her team mates and fans. She always caught what the refs missed and did not hesitate to let them know about their mistake.  She was a great Euchre player and was a charter member of the shopping hall of fame and also enjoyed many Saturday night "Chicken and Beer Dances" with her husband Ray and their many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Maden and Roland Hall; parents, Michael and Theresa, nee Magyar, Vegh; brother, Louie Vegh; sister, Betty Jureka; step-sons Patrick and David Hall; and step-grandchildren, Bobby Blackford and Aron Ponder.

Surviving are her children, Nancy McBride and Patti L. (Rick) Moss of Troy, Ill., and Larry (Susan) Maden of Collinsville, Ill.; step-children, Mike (Patsy) Hall and Rick Hall of Collinsville, Ill., Kathy (Bob) Blackford of Maryville, Ill.; grandchildren, Shannon (Brandon) Gentry, Shane McBride, Tara (Alex) Fox, Ty (Carly) Moss, Dezman (Camille) Butler and Tommy Maden; step-grandchildren, Kevin Ponder and Amy (Dave) Rhymer; 17 great-grandchildren, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Mary McDonough officiating.  Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
