Herbert Dale Juehne, 82, of Troy, Ill., born Aug. 28, 1930, in St. Louis, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Swansea Care Center, Swansea, Ill.
Mr. Juehne was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, Ill. He was a plumbing contractor for over 39 years and served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1951, being one of the first to be deployed to the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert John and Clarisse "Lavern", nee Moonier, Juehne.
Surviving are his wife, Rosalind A. "Terrie", nee Comporato, Juehne; three sons, Michael (Sherry) Juehne of Troy, Ill., Thomas (Twyla) Juehne of Troy, Ill., and Todd (Elizabeth) Juehne of Trenton, Ill.; grandchildren, Gerolyn (Derek) Westerback, Melissa (Joshua) Sweitzer, Tamara Juehne, Marco Juehne, Anthony Juehne, Christine Juehne, and Rosemarie Juehne; great-grandchildren, Allison Mann, Eden Soto, Erin Westerback, Lisette Sweitzer and Canaan Sweitzer; and sister DeBrulle "Debbie" Juehne of Murphysboro, Tenn. He was a dear uncle and friend.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois or Alzheimer's Association.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012,at Laughlin~Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill., with Father Pat Jakel officiating. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Black Jack, Ill.
