Herbert David "Herb" Wilson, 62, of Troy, Ill., born Oct. 3, 1951, in East St. Louis, Ill., joined his loving Savior on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Herb worked at Granite City Steel for 39 years. He was a member of Christian Motorcycle Association, was an avid singer and praise worship leader taking God's message and his music to nursing homes in the area. He was a lifetime member of the Assembly of God, always had a smile and words of cheer, an awesome and loving husband, father giving all. Herb Loved the Cardinals, but most of all he enjoyed being an uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Daniel G. Steele; and grandparents, Clarence and Pauline Wilson and Raymond and Agnus Trout.
Surviving are his wife, Janet, nee Steele, Wilson of Troy, Ill.; son, Ryan (Aleida) Wilson of O'Fallon, Ill.; parents, Rev. Herbert E. and Mavis, nee Trout, Wilson of Troy, Ill.; brothers, Gary (Sheila) Wilson, Kevin (Debra) Wilson and Rev. Kent (Dorinda) Wilson; and mother-in-law, Myrna, nee Cook, Steele of Troy, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Calvary Life Church.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Calvary Life Church, 4650 Maryville Road, in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Calvary Life Church with Rev. Mark Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
