Henry E. "Hank" Robards, 79, of St. Jacob, IL, born June 23, 1940 in Tamalco, IL and passed away on Monday, July 23, 2019 at his home in St. Jacob, IL.
Hank was retired MSGT from the Air Force with 24 years of service. He was in Vietnam from 1967-68. Hank was an active 30 year member of Bussong-Mersinger American Legion Post 665, St. Jacob, IL, serving as Post Commander and Post Finance Officer. Hank also served as Department Commander of the American Legion Department of Illinois in 2015. He served on various Ad hock Committees including Redistricting and Legion Leadership. He was a 2002 graduate of Legion College and a facilitator in 2004 and 2006. He had been on different committees: Membership and Post Activities and the Legislative Commission. Hank also served the Village of St. Jacob as a trustee form 2005 to 2013.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Francis W. and Fay (nee Duckworth) Robards; brother, Raymond Robards; and a sister, Vera Loehring.
Surviving are his children, Tom (Kelley) Robards of St. Jacob, IL and Tammy (Patrick) Hill of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Samantha and Tyler Robards, Connor and Piper Hill, Ricky (Jessica) Stephenson, Misty (Eric) Kuegler and Heather Mooney; great-grandchildren, Andreux and Colton Kuegler, ShaeLynn Mooney and Tanner Stephenson; a sister Laverna Arnold of Hopkinsville, KY.

Friends may call 3 to 5 pm on Friday, July 26, 2019 at RICHESON FUNERAL HOME, Troy, IL
Funeral services will be held 5 pm Friday, July 26, 2019 at RICHESON Funeral Home, Troy, IL with the Rev. Charles West officiating, followed by full military Honors. Interment will be private.
