Helen Louise Scogin was bornThursday, June 22, 1922 on a farm north of Doniphan, MO the daughter of Walter James and Margaret Ann (nee Engelken) Boshears.  She passed away peacefully at her son's home on January 19, 2022 at 99 years of age.

Helen was a member of Collinsville-Troy Church of Christ.  She taught school for over 40 years, her first teaching assignment was a one-room school teaching grades 1 ^st -8 ^th .  She was accepted in two editions of Who's Who in American Teachers nominated by the parents of her 4 ^th grade class at St. Paul's School in Highland, IL.  She loved reading, gardening, her flowers and interaction with people and talking with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny E. Wheeler and Louis Scogin; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Wheeler; her brothers, Max and Robert Boshears.

Surviving are her children, John Wheeler of Doniphan, MO, Robert (Mary Ann) Wheeler of Troy, IL, Larry (Cindy) Wheeler of Troy, IL, Linda Seitz and Susan (Randy) Stroder both of Collinsville, IL; 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; an uncle, many nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
