Helen L. Cooper, 96 of Troy, Illinois passed on from this life on December 24,2015.
Mrs. Cooper was born on January 17, 1919, in Alvin, Illinois. She attended Wellington and Hoopston public schools as a child. She married Walter Eugene Cooper on June 10, 1945, in Urbana. He passed away on January 15, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; parents, Harry and Mary Wood; sister, Alice; brothers, Harold, Lovell, and Howard; three infant sisters, a daughter-in-law, Karen and a grandchild.
She is survived by her children, Jimmie Cooper of Champaign and Terry (Cindy) Cooper of Troy, three grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Hamm of Collinsville, Mark Cooper, Kevin Cooper, both of Champaign and a great-grandchild, Cooper Hamm of Collinsville.
Mrs. Cooper worked for Time Magazine and Sears in Champaign and was a homemaker. She moved in 2009 to The Fountains of Troy in Troy, Illinois.
Memorial donations may be given to Faith United Methodist Church, Champaign and will be accepted at the funeral home. Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.Richesonfh.com
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at Renner-Wikoff Funeral Home, Urbana. Funeral services will be held immediately after the visitation. Interment will be held at East Lawn Cemetery, Urbana, Ill.
