Obituary
Helen L. Biarkis, nee Brueggemann, 102, of Troy, Ill., born Aug. 4, 1910, in St. Louis, Mo., died on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, in Highland, Ill.
Mrs. Biarkis lived many years in Jennings, Mo., and also resided in Troy, Ill., since the mid 1980s. She was a beautician for more than 40 years.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Gesine, nee Pluns, Brueggemann; brothers, William "Smokey" Walter, Alfred and Fred Brueggemann; and a sister, Eleanor Brueggemann.
Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Kerr (Dr. James E. Kerr) of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Robin Kerr of Marina Del Ray, Calif., and Scott Kerr of Middlebury, Vt.
Memorials may be made to Partners for Pets are appreciated.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Price officiating. Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
