Harold "Tap" Tegtmeyer, 85, of Troy, IL, born July 25, 1919, in Troy, IL, died Saturday, September 11, 2004.

Mr. Tegtmeyer was a Triad Community Unit 2 school bus driver for more than 18 years. Along with driving the school bus, he worked at the Troy Grain Elevator. In his spare time after farming and driving, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Troy, IL. He was loved by many people.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry W. and Ella Anna, nee Busse, Tegtmeyer; and a daughter, Joyce Ann Blaine.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Mary, nee Bohnenstiehl, Tegtmeyer whom he married July 25, 1942 in Collinsville, IL; a daughter Sandra Ellen Hanser of Troy, IL; six grandchildren, Teri Pratt of Troy, IL, Steven (Pam) Pratt of Litchfield, IL, Laura Hofman of Belleville, IL,Scott (Cindy) Pratt of St. Louis, MO, Cheryl (Scott) Carvelot of Collinsville, IL, and Dale Blaine of St. Louis, MO; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon (Tara) Auston of Litchfield, IL, Joshua Auston of Litchfield, IL, Garrett Pratt of Litchfield, IL, Amanda Hofman of Belleville, IL, Jacob Burton of Belleville, IL, Lillian Pratt of St. Louis, MO, William Carvelot of Collinsville, IL, and Lisa Carvelot of Collinsville, IL; and two great-great-grandchildren,
Alex and Ben Auston of Litchfield, IL.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2004, and from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, IL, with the Rev. James Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
