Harold Robert Klenke, 86, of Troy, Ill., born July 31, 1925, in Pin Oak Township, Ill., died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Relais Bonne Eau, Hospice of Southern Illinois in Edwardsville, Ill.
Mr. Klenke had lived in the Troy, Ill., area since 1925, coming from Alhambra, Ill., he was a proud farmer and dairy farmer, all of his life. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Troy, Ill., and the Madison County Farm Bureau. He was a Pinoak Township trustee for 40 years and sold seed for Dekalb Seed Co. Harold enjoyed playing cards and bowling. He loved and cherished his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, nee Meier, Klenke, whom he married on Sept. 14, 1947, in Pleasant Ridge, Ill., and who died on May 8, 2008; a son Kenneth Dean Klenke; parents, Henry Frederick and Christine Alice Emilie, nee Ziegler, Klenke; daughter-in-law, Lois Klenke; and brothers, Orville Klenke and Elmer Klenke.
Surviving are his children, Eugene Harold Klenke of Troy, Ill., Marilyn Elaine (Edward) Gerstenecker of Vernon, Ill., Dianne Faye (Mike) Waitukaitis of Willis, Texas and Barbara Ann (Steve) Unterbrink of Moro, Ill.; grand-children, Robert (Tamra) Gerstenecker, David Gerstenecker, Denise (Brian) Willis, Henry (Heather) Klenke, Kevin (Tina) Miller, Chad Miller, Tyler (Kari) Unterbrink and Leslie (James) Musgrave; three step grandchildren, John (Jenny) Waitukaitis, Amanda (Chad) Benson and Ben Waitukaitis; eight great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Louis F. (Vivian) Meier of Collinsville, Ill.; brother, Norman (Ana) Klenke of Centralia, Mo.; and sisters, Irma Henkhaus of Hamel, Ill., and Velma Henkhaus of Alhambra, Ill.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Troy, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, 17, 2012, at the church with the Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Interment Friday in Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
