Harley "Joe" Eaves, 87, of Troy, Ill., born Sept. 15, 1925, in Fayette County, Ill., died on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, in Maryville, Ill.

Mr. Eaves was a retired machinist/mechanic from Union Electric, and was an East St. Louis High School graduate class of 1943. He loved all types of sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley J. and Caroline, nee Smith, Eaves Sr.; and brothers, Maynard and Jack Eaves.

Surviving are his wife, Eva Lee M., nee Gordon, Eaves of Troy, Ill.; sons, Gordon (Sue) Eaves of Troy, Ill., and Curt Eaves of Alhambra, Ill.; grandchildren, Lafe Eaves, Libby Wilson, Zoe (Scott) Lewis and Zach (Terri) Eaves; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Bodie Wilson, Canyon Lewis and Tanner Eaves; sisters, Clara (Gene) Lineberry of Holt, Mo., Carol (Don) Neely of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Dottie (Andy Newton) Woods of Fairview Heights, Ill.

Memorials may be made to the Noffsinger Cemetery.

Family graveside services will be held Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Noffsinger Cemetery in Mulberry Grove, Ill.
