Obituary
Gwen M. Bauer, 97, of Troy, IL, born May 29, 1916, in Sugar Creek Twp., IL, died on Monday, March 4, 2014, at Stearns Nursing and Rehab, Granite City, IL.
She was a member of Troy United Methodist Church, Troy, IL, Women of the Moose Chapter 82, Illinois Association for Home and Community Education, TOPS member of Troy, Women's Club of Troy and held the distinct honor of being the oldest member of Jarvis Township Senior Citizens Center.
Gwen was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert C. Bauer, daughter Wymeth V. Perkins, parents Hugh B. and Onie C. (nee Crutchfield) Lanter, brothers Ralph, Kenneth, Odell, Cleadous, Carson and Dale Lanter.
Surviving are a granddaughter, Hannah Perkins; brother Voyit (Linda) Lanter of Beckemeyer, IL; sister Fern Kamler of Florissant, MO; and many friends.
Memorials may be made to Jarvis Township Senior Citizens Center, Troy, IL.
Friends may call from 12 noon to 2 pm on Friday, March 7, 2012, at Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, IL.
Service will begin at 2 pm Friday, March 7, 2014, at Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, IL, with the Rev. Dennis Price officiating. Interment in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
