Gertrude "Toni" Hern, 96, of St. Louis, MO, born, Tuesday, July 11, 1922 in St. Louis, MO, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Hitz Home in Alhambra, IL.

Tony attended the Catholic Church. She was a professional baseball player with the Fred Roth Rangers, St. Louis women's league during the 1930's and 1940's, winning the western division in 1938.  She wore many hats during her career, working at Tri City Grocery, United Food Workers Union, Security and owned and operated her own corner grocery store on Holly Hills in St. Louis for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Sr. and Gertrude (nee Tebeau) Hern; brother, Clarence Hern Jr.; and a sister, Agnes Jonas.

Celebration of Toni's life will be held at 11 on Sat. February 2, 2019 at RICHESON FUNERAL HOME, Troy, IL, with Rev. Dale Skeesick officiating. Interment is in St. Ann Cemetery, Normandy, MO
