Gertrude L. "Gertie" Gebhart, 86, of Collinsville, IL, born Sunday, September 26, 1937, in Collinsville, IL and she passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.
Gertie faithfully attended St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL where she was member of the St. Ann's Sodality for over 55 years. She was very proud and honored to receive the Women's Award of Distinction at a special mass held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield, IL in 2016. She volunteered with Ministries Unlimited in Troy, Grandma's Attic in Maryville and the Jarvis Township Senior Center. She made over 100 Teddy Bears each year for many years to give away for the Sodality Booth at the Troy Homecoming. She enjoyed bowling, her flower gardens, playing bingo and most of all her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel Gebhart whom she married May 10, 1958 and he passed away on October 4, 1999; her daughter, Loretta Gebhart; her parents, William F. and Lena A. (nee Catron) Hoffmann; brothers, James, Lawrence, Bernard and Leo Hoffmann; her sisters, Mary Schwaegel, Kathleen Pritchett, Frances Waghorn and Dorothy Hoffmann.
Surviving are her children, Michael Gebhart of Collinsville, IL and Karen (Donnie Crouch) Gebhart of Collinsville, IL; her grandchildren, Amy Leach, Joseph (Cheri) Leach, Christopher (Andrea) Gebhart, Katelyn Gebhart and Crystal Gebhart; great-grandchildren, Cassidy Eyman, Hailey, Makinley and Timothy Leach; sister, Theresa Siegel of Mascoutah, IL; her sister-in-law, Fran Gebhart of Woodstock, GA; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation for Gertie will be held 9:30 am to 11 am on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL.
Funeral Mass will be held 11 am on Thursday, September 26, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL with Fr. Kevin Laughery officiating. Interment will be in St. Jerome Catholic Cemetery, Troy, IL.
