Gerald W. Messina, 57, of Edwardsville, IL, born Saturday, August 3, 1963 in East St. Louis, IL and passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.

Gerald was a member of Local 520 Operating Engineers and worked for Hayes Excavating.  He enjoyed boating and camping and working.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Ann (nee Howard) Lunceford.

Surviving are his wife Bobby (nee Kesler) Messina of Edwardsville, IL; children, Dylan W. Messina of Edwardsville, IL, Sara Jane (Travis Shaw) Messina of Greenville, IL and Kristen Ann Jean (Jake Simonton) Jump-Eddington, Hillsboro, IL; grandchildren, Ryder Lee Eddington and Mia Jean Simonton; father, Melvin (Shirley) Messina of Anacortes, WA; brother, Steven C. Messina of Edwardsville, IL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
