Obituary
George H. Greeney Jr., 69, of Troy, Ill., born Dec. 27, 1946, in Omaha, Neb., died Saturday, April 30, 2016, in St. Louis, Mo.
George served his country faithfully in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post 976 Troy, Ill. He loved his family and he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George H. Sr. and Amelia F., nee Sweigard, Greeney.
Surviving are his wife, Lindola, nee Moore, Greeney of Troy, Ill.; a son, William G. Greeney of Troy, Ill.; two sisters, Kathleen (Garold) Cavaness of Fenton, Mo., and Carol Greeney of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a nephew, Steven (Brandy) Cavaness; and great-niece and nephew, Amelia and Logan Cavaness.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the funeral home, with Rev. Charles West officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Glen Carbon, Ill.
