Genevieve "Gen" Gremaud, nee Pingel, 75, of Troy, Illinois, born October 30, 1928 in Biehly, Missouri, died Sunday morning, December 7, 2003 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Illinois.

Mrs. Gremaud was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church, Troy, Illinois. She was a member of St. Ann's Council of Catholic Women and Quilt Guild. She enjoyed her birds and flowers and playing cards with her friends. She donated items and many hours of help to the ABL Pregnancy Center in Collinsville, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Mary Agnes, nee Underreiner, Pingel; and two sisters, Elsie and Hilda Pingel.

Surviving are her husband, Arthur "Art" Gremaud of Troy, whom she married October 25, 1952; two sons, Doug Gremaud of Mascoutah, Illinois, and Dan Gremaud of Troy, Illinois; four daughters, Kathleen Gremaud of Collinsville, IL; Patricia (Robert) Johnson of Springfield, Illinois;Donna (Joseph) Thomas of Troy; and Janice Gremaud of Troy; two brothers, Hubert Pingel of Perryville, MO; and Ralph Pingel of Bonne Terre, Missouri; three sisters, Ella Wengler, of Fredericktown, Missouri; Rita Fenwick of Perryville, MO; and Ruth Pingel, of Springfield, Missouri and six grandchildren, Teresa (Robert) Nolting, Eric (Ana) Johnson, Laura Johnson, all of Springfield, Illinois; and Maria, Adam, and Jason Thomas, all of Troy, Illinois.

Memorials may be made in the form of Masses, to Arthritis foundation, or to National Right to Life.

Friends may call after 4;00 pm, Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, Illinois. A Prayer Service will be held at 5:30 pm. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at 9:00 am, Wednesday, December 10, 2003, also at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Illinois.  Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL.
