Gale Z. Stoops, 66, of Troy, IL, born September 01, 1948, in Elvins, MO, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at his home in Troy, IL.


Gale proudly served his Country in United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Brother Gale was a faithful member of the Pentecostals of Troy. He retired from the Star Bakery of Troy and was always ready to help others when they needed that extra helping hand. Gale loved life and all that it brought, blessed is his life now in heaven with all the saints gone before him.


He was preceded in death by his first wife Constance A. Stoops; parents, Lawrence and Irene (nee Pratt) Stoops; step-granddaughter, Monica Hull, step-brothers, Leonard and Ramon Stokes; brother-in-law, John Holton.


Surviving are his loving wife, Shirley Stoops whom he married June 24, 1991; children, Greg Morra and Marianne (Terry Johnson) Stoops Arnold; grandchildren, Kassandra Stoops, Jessica and Constance Arnold, Bryce and Drake Morra, Tara and Austin Johnson and Dylan Gasper; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Kingston Ford; sister, Delores Stokes Holton; sister-in-law, Rosalie Stokes; niece, Kelley Stokes; Brother-in-law, and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews cousins and many other friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Pentecostal of Troy Church, Troy, IL, with Rev. Brian Bradshaw and Bishop Howard Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
