Gail Diane Pickett, nee Reid, 63, of Troy, Ill., born Nov. 4, 1951, in Los Angeles, Calif., died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Gail was a member of Unity Church, Collinsville, Ill. She was a very active mom, serving with the Girl Scouts for over 10 years, and as a sports mom in soccer, cheerleading, baseball, softball and more. She was also active in Grand-parents Parenting Again program, young actors gallery in Frankfort, Germany, as a volunteer aid for Triad Schools, and a member of the VFW Post 976 Ladies Auxiliary.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Gary Reid and Barbara June, nee Spargo, Johnson.


Surviving are her husband, Larry J. Pickett; children, James L. (Lisa) Pickett, Joseph L. Pickett and Amber J. Pickett, all of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Shyla Colvin, Sara Beth Colvin and Alexander J. Daniels; great-grandchildren, Savanah, Kylee and Haylee; brothers, Robert J. (Sheryl) Reid of Hobbs, N.M., John B. (Gaby) Reid of Clairmont, Calif.; and best friends, Jody Harrison and Kim King.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
