Obituary
Frederick D. "Fred" McKean, 64, of Troy, Ill., born Dec. 8, 1943, in Highland, Ill., died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Fred was a steel worker at Granite City Steel. He was a member of Edwardsville Gun Club, Town and Country Gun Club and IOOF.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Velora "Zeoy", nee Munton, McKean; and a brother, Bobby Leon McKean.
Surviving are his wife, Lynn, nee Evans, McKean; his children, Charles M. McKean of Granite City, Ill., and Shelly D. Duncan of Hamel, Ill.; a grandchild, Virginia M. Duncan; three great-grandchildren, Julien, Brandon and Emmie; two brothers, Tom E. (Diana) McKean of Greenville, Ill., and Elmer J. (Susan) McKean of Highland, Ill.; and two sisters, Louise A. Smith of Greenville, Ill., and Laura J. (Hal) Jones of Lakewood, Colo.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2008, at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Laughlin Funeral Home Chapel, Troy, Ill., with Rev. Doug Munton officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
