Mr. Fred Martinez,age 80 years, of Maryville, IL, born April 18, 1925 in Denver, CO, died June 25, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Mr. Martinez lived in Maryville, IL since 1993 moving from Noblesville, IN. He was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Maryville, a life member of Ex-prisoner of War during WWII, a member of Collinsville V.F.W. Post #5691 and the American Legion Post #365 of Collinsville, IL. He retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years of service and Boehringer-Mannheim Co. after 19 years of service.
Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by his parents Jasper and Adelina Martinez.
Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Iva (nee:Frye) Martinez whom he married on November 27, 1945, one son, Terry T. (Ruth) Martinez of Collinsville, IL, two grandaughters, Mrs. Sarah (Christopher) Peila of Makawao, Hawaii, Ms. Laura Martinez of Minneapolis, MN, one grandson, Daniel Martinez of Tempe, AZ, and two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Marina Peila.
VISITATION: Friends may call at the Laughlin Funeral Home after 4 P.M. on Wednesday, June 29, 2005.
