Francis Dale Bray, 86, of Troy, Ill., born July 26, 1926, in Lindsay, Okla., died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab Center.
Francis retired from the Army after serving 23 years active duty. He was a member of Collinsville Church of Christ where he was very active and taught Bible School.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Arvin Bray and Ola Minnie, nee Mulvehill, Bray-Hill; brothers, J.A. Bray and DeeWayne Bray; and sister, Fern Bray.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Marie, nee Williams, Bray of Troy, Ill.; sons, Stephen (Kim) Bray of Highland, Ill., and Timothy Bray of Troy, Ill.; daughters, Anjila M. (Geof) Stimack of Arvada, Colo., Rebecca (Bob) Freedman of Springfield, Mo., Deborah MacDonald of Nashville, Tenn., and Sandra (Jud) Haynie of Nashville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Donald (Jean) Bray of Muskogee, Okla., and Jimmy (Helen) Bray of Anderson, S.C.
Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ Mission Fund.
Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at Collinsville Church of Christ, Troy, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Collinsville Church of Christ, Troy, Ill., with Terry Mabery officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
