Ferd H. Lyons, 90, of Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of Troy, Ill., born Dec. 23, 1917, in Sandoval, Ill., died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Sunrise Assisted Living, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Mr. Lyons was a retired captain for the St. Louis Fire Department. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill. He was a 25-year member of the St. Louis Fire Fighters union local.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Madeline Lyons; and his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Dr. Jerry L. (Dorothy) Lyons of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Ronald G. (Cathy) Lyons of Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Joan Daigger of St. Louis, Mo.; a granddaughter, Karen (Dr. Chris) Andershock of Tennessee; four great-grandchildren; and his first wife, Edna, nee Faulkner, Lyons.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill., with the Rev. James Gullen officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
