Esther A. Mersinger, age 93, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Sunbridge Care Center in Edwardsville, IL. She was born March 24, 1910 to Charles and Anna (Schroeder) Mersinger and raised in Troy and formerly taught school at St. John Catholic School in Black Jack. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann Altar Society, Quilters Society, and was an office and housekeeper for Father George Hobbs in Gillespie, Illinois. She is survived by her nieces, Colleen Mersinger of Troy and Ethel Bauer of Collinsville. She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Visitation: 4:oo pm, Thursday, March 27 at Laughlin Funeral Home Chapel; with Scripture Service at 4:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 am, Friday, March 28, 2003 at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy with Reverend Steven Janoski
presiding.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jerome Catholic Church or Daughters of Isabelle or in the form of Masses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at St. Jerome Catholic Cemetery in Troy, Ilinois
