Erras Gwinup, nee Blase,85, of Troy, IL., born in Worden,IL., died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. Gwinup was a real estate broker and a housewife. She graduated from Edwardsville High School Class of 1935. She worked at Shell Oil Co. in St. Louis, Mo., until they moved offices to New York. She then worked for Dr. M. Sigoloff who headed pneumonia control and Dr. Sulkin who headed venereal disease control in the Municipal Building in St. Louis, Mo., and was a volunteer at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. When the senior citizen building of Jarvis Township was under construction she served as the first President of the Board of Directors, and spent many hours undertaking fund raisings to help the building become self-supporting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Gwinup, whom she married Feb.15,1941, in St. Louis, Mo., and who died Jan. 23, 1978; her parents, Henry and Laura, nee Lannae, Blase, a sister Zora; and a grandson Kenneth Gwinup at the age of 19 from a motorcycle accident.
Surviving are three sons, Terrence Gwinup of St. Louis, Mo., Darrell G. (Carolyn) Gwinup of Edwardsville, IL., and George Edwin (Mary Kay) Gwinup of Mahomet, IL.; a daughter, Dr. Gayle Burch of Greenville, IL., and three grandchildren, Deborah Burch and Andrew and Allison Gwinup.

VISITATION: Friends may call after Noon on Sunday,March 28, 2004, and from 10 a.m. to Noon Monday, March 29,2004, at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, IL.
FUNERAL: Funeral Services will be held at Noon Monday, March 29, 2004, at the funeral home with the Rev. Daryl Bolen officiating. Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
