Obituary
Edwin Alexander Porter, 82, of St. Jacob, Ill., born April 17, 1927, in St. Jacob, Ill., died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at Highland Health Care Center, Highland, Ill.
Mr. Porter lived in St. Jacob all his life. He worked as a farmer and was a member of Emerald Mound Grange, Lebanon, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Sarah, nee Seitz, Porter; and his brother, Charles A. Porter.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley, nee Thouvenot, Porter; sisters, Betty (Harold) Blumberg of Marine, Ill., and Marian Porter of Highland, Ill.; and nieces and nephews, Donna Weil of Lebanon, Ill., Bill (Kathy) Porter of Maryville, Ill., Harold Blumberg Jr., of Marine, Ill., and James (Tammy) Blumberg of Marine, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Aebischer-Richeson Funeral Home, St. Jacob, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Kniepkamp officiating. Burial will be in Keystone Cemetery.
