Mrs. Edna Kranz, (nee: Prott), born October 9, 1921 in Pin Oak Township, Illinois, died January 18, 2007 at Eden Village Care Center, Glen Carbon, Illinois.

Mrs. Kranz lived most of her life in the Troy area. She was married to James Kranz on October 10, 1953 in Marine, Illinois. He survives. Mrs. Kranz was a homemaker and helped on the family farm. She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Troy, and a Women's Guild Past Member of Eastern Star. Mrs. Kranz loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and especially her great-grandson.

Mrs. Kranz is survived by her husband James Kranz of Troy, Illinois, her daughters, Mrs. Carol (Ron) Klaustermeier of Troy, Illinois, and Mrs. Laurie (Pat) Mersinger of St. Jacob, Illinois, a sister, Mrs. Lucille (Alvin) Frank of Marine, Illinois, five grandchildren, Steve Mersinger, Kris Klaustermeier, Adam Mersinger, Jennie Mersinger and Mandy Klaustermeier, and one great-grandson, Dalton Mersinger.

Mrs. Kranz is preceded in death by her parents, Augusta and Amelia (nee: Nemnich) Prott and one son who passed away in infancy.

VISITATION HOURS: Friends may call at the Laughlin Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 19, 2007.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be Saturday, January 20, 2007 at the Laughlin Funeral Home "Chapel" with Reverend Scott Hawker officiating. Interment will be at Marine City Cemetery, Marine, Illinois.
