Edwin J. "Ed" Kelley, 82, of St. Jacob, IL, born September 17, 1931, in Granite City, IL, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at Highland Health Care Center, Highland, IL.

Ed was a member of St. Jacob United Church of Christ, St. Jacob, IL;and was a former Mayor of St. Jacob, IL; Past-President of Southwest Stock Car Speedway Highland, IL, and of the Snow Mobile Club, as well as Past-Secretary of Steel Workers Union for many years. He served in the Naval reserves and retired from Granite City Steel as a Pipe Fitter. Ed Loved Cardinal Baseball, fishing, stock car racing, snow-mobiling and most any other sport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel J. and Annette, (nee Weber) Kelley; brothers, Bob and Leroy Kelley.

Surviving is his wife, Lola J. (nee Schauster) Kelley of St. Jacob, IL whom he married July 19, 1952 in Granite City, IL; his son, Jeff (Lisa) Kelley Sr. of Highland, IL; grandson, Jeff Kelley Jr.
And many nieces, nephews and friends.
