Earl Charles Schiefer, 92, of Shiloh, Ill., born May 25, 1923, in St. Jacob, Ill., passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at his home.

Earl and Donna enjoyed their time together and taking care of each other. He enjoyed being busy and was a hard worker, working into his 90th year. He attended the Southern Baptist Church of Vera, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine Schiefer; parents, Peter C. and Ella K., nee Graff, Schiefer; brothers, Wilbur J., Milton "Dick", and Allan F. Schiefer; and sisters, Viola Schiefer, Alice Miekamp and Dorothy Fohne.

Surviving are his wife, Donna E., nee Carruthers, Depew Schiefer of Shiloh, Ill.; son, Michael (Alicia) Schiefer of Troy, Ill.; daughter, Delphine (Michelle) Schiefer of Caseyville, Ill.; grandchildren, Jennifer and Nick Schiefer; and sisters, Eleanora F. Beh-rens of O'Fallon, Ill., and Irma M. Rinderer of Marine, Ill.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at Aebischer Richeson Funeral Home in St. Jacob, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Kniepkamp officiating. Burial will be in Keystone Cemetery in St. Jacob, Ill.
