Dorothy May Kircher, 80, of Maryville, Ill., born Feb. 25, 1931, in Litchfield, Ill., died Monday, June 6, 2011, at her home.

Mrs. Kircher ran a childcare in her home. She was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Maryville, Ill., Spoolin Around Quilters, Helping Hands, and Young at Heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Kircher whom she married on Jan. 23, 1949, and who died Nov. 10, 2006; son, David Kircher; parents, William Lee and Francis Mae, nee Chaplin, Howard; brother, Barry Howard; and sister, Elizabeth Weiss.

Surviving are her sons, Ron Kircher of Granite City, Ill., and Delmar F. (Sharon) Kircher of Bunker Hill, Ill.; daughter, Cheryl (Thomas) Jeschke of Belvidere, Ill.; grandchildren, Cindy Kircher, Teri Coburn, Delmar Kircher III, Kristina Pratt, Rob, Tom, and Mike Lindley, Michelle Harman, Matt and Mark Kircher, Mary Schweppe, Misty Kircher, Jeremy and Jeff Briggs, Darcie Kircher, Karly and Chandler Jeschke and sisters, Gladys Thompson of Alexandria, Va., and Marjorie Wilkinson of Edwardsville, Ill.

Memorials may be made to St. Lukes United Methodist Church, Maryville, Ill.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011, and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, with Rev. Sig Bjorklund officiating. Burial will be at Hug Cemetery, Millersburg, Ill.
