Obituary
Dorothy O. Jondro, 99, of St. Jacob, Ill., formerly of Caseyville, Ill., born Jan. 16, 1915, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at her home in St. Jacob, Ill.
Dorothy graduated on Dec. 8, 1938, as a Licensed Registered Beauty Consultant. She owned and operated Dorothy's Beauty Shop in Caseyville, Ill., for 67 years, retiring in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hal and Edith I. nee Wright, Jondro; a sister, Hattie Fingerhutt; a niece, Betty J. Mattea; and a friend, Leo "Mackie" Zammaroni.
Surviving are a great-nephew, Mike (Cathy) Mattea of St. Jacob, Ill.; three great-nieces, Becky Giddings of Arizona, Jonina Rogers of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Chris Miller of Fairview Heights, Ill.; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Nick, Casey, Allie, Derek, and Corey Mattea, Jessica Sandflaven, Cindy Rogers, and Nicholas and Andrew Miller, Shawna Giddings, Charles and Jennifer Rogers.
Memorials may be made to St. Jerome's Catholic Church.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the funeral home, with Fr. Pat Jakel officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
