Dorothy Irene Hencke, 92, of Lebanon, Ill., born Jan. 4, 1920, in Edwardsville, Ill., died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in Lebanon, Ill.
Mrs. Hencke was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, Ill., Friedens
Women's Guild, and Senior Citizens Center. She loved crafting, quilting, woodworking, and crocheting bears for church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernett John Hencke; her parents, William Thomas and Lena, nee Wessel, Simpson; a brother, Leslie, Simpson; and sons-in-law, Dan Schmerbach and Gene Keilbach.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce (Dale) Loyet of Lebanon, Ill., and Judy Keilbach of Troy, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Christi Burmester, Julie (Wayne) Loyet, Valorie (Gary) Smith, Sara (Rich) Parmeley, Thomas (Cindy) Keilbach, Teresa (Todd) Williams, Tamara (Mark) Sanders, Timothy (Donna) Keilbach, Todd (Tracy) Keilbach; 21 great-grandchildren, Matthew (Anna) Burmester, Travis (Nicole) Burmester, Carolyn (Corey) Doner, Aaron Loyet, Gary Smith III, Gabe Smith, Morgan Smith, Madison Smith, Landon Parmeley, Lydia Parmeley, Christopher Keilbach, Sean Keilbach, Amanda (Jimmy) Wadkins, Kevin (Jessica) Williams, Tyler Sanders, Taylor Sanders, Jacob (Ashley) Stokes, Aubrey Keilbach, Allison Keilbach, Maggie Keilbach and Nolan Keilbach; 12 great-great-grandchildren, Alicia Burmester, Payton Burmester, Lane Burmester, Robin Doner, Skyler Keilbach, Kody Keilbach, Michael Guess, Ethan Guess, Kynslee Wadkins, Benjamin Stokes, Dakota Wadkins and Austin Wadkins; and a sister, Betty (Edwin) Dankenbring of Edwardsville, Ill.
Memorials may be made to Friedens United Church of Christ, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital or Shriner's Hospital of St. Louis, Ill.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at Friedens United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Cindy Bumb officiating. Burial will be held at Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
