Mrs. Dorothy A. Goodwin,(nee:Bartman), 72, born September 28, 1933 in New Holland, Illinois, died Friday, September 15, 2006 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Illinois.
Mrs. Goodwin lived in Troy, Illinois since 1978, moving from Harrisonville, Missouri. Dorothy was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Maryville,IL. Member of Women's Bible Study Group,Past Sunday School Teacher and Secretary of the Church,Bible School Director,Volunteer Jarvis Township Senior Citizen Center, Volunteer Helper for 4 years with Pre School at St. John Lutheran Church and a Hospital Volunteer.
Mrs. Goodwin is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Anna (nee:Klokkenga) Bartman, her husband Douglas L. Goodwin whom she married on February 20, 1955 and passed away July 5, 2005, a daughter Cindy L. Goodwin, a brother Redmer Bartman, and sisters Elizabeth Parker, Norma Miller and Margaret Kinsey.
Mrs. Goodwin is survived by two daughters Melinda Stein of Troy, Illinois, and Lisa Goodwin of Troy, Illinois, one sister Mrs. Rose (Donald) Miller of Lincoln, Illinois, and two grandsons Joshua Stein of Warrenton, Virginia, and Jacob Stein of Troy, Illinois.
VISITATION: Friends may call at the Laughlin Funeral Home on Monday, September 18, 2006 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Memorial Service will be 7 P.M. Monday evening at the Funeral Home with Pastor Maxwell officiating. Remains will be taken to Verona, Mississippi. Friends may call at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home in Verona, Mississippi from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Wednesday, September 20, 2006. Service will be at 11 A.M. at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with interment immediately following at Lee Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials my be made to American Cancer Society.
