Doris Mae Bettorf, nee Lockhart, 82, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born July 25, 1934, in Granite City, Ill., died Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center, Edwardsville, Ill.
She married the late William D. Bettorf in 1952, enjoyed being a wife, mother and homemaker. She loved her family and friends especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved showering them with gifts. She loved spending time with her family and loved having fish frys with her sons and grandson. She also enjoyed lunch and shopping trips with her daughters-in-law, grand-daughters and cousins. She loved nature, her flower garden, bird watching and a good meal. She was a devoted wife, a cherished mother and a loving grandmother. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Bettorf; a son, Jeffery W. Bettorf; a daughter-in-law, Deborah K. Bettorf; father, Elmer Lockhart Sr. (Marcella); mother, Anne Lockhart Burton (William); brothers, Elmer "Shorty" Lockhart, James Lockhart and Gale Lockhart.
Surviving are her sons, William D. Bettorf Jr. (Whitney), and Timothy G. Bettorf; a daughter-in-law, Lynn M. Bettorf; grandchildren, Kelly L. Hoelting (Ryan), Shauna D. Bettorf, Stacy A. Hayden (Ben), Ryan T. Bettorf (Laura), Katie M. Bettorf (Matt), Brooke L. Bettorf (Jordan), Avarey R. Cope-Bettorf, and Kacie L. Bettorf; and great-grandchildren, MacKenzie M. Luyster, Rainn J. Hoelting, Jack K. Hayden, Ashton W. Brennan, Elizabeth K. Hayden, Elliott S. Hoelting, Gracyn L. Dill, Hudson J. Dill, Reis J. Bettorf, and Sophie M. Bettorf.
