Obituary
Donald A. Dressel, 93, of Highland, Ill., born Feb. 19, 1921, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at Faith Country Side, Highland, Ill.
Mr. Dressel was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill. He served his country faithfully in the Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M., nee Boll, Dressel, whom he married May 24, 1952, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, St. Louis, Mo., and she passed on March 25, 2011; his parents, William J. and Leon France, nee Wriston, Dressel; and a sister, Doris Sanford.
Surviving are his children, Mary (John) Biegler of Troy, Ill., Linda (Leonard) Kraudel of Troy, Ill., Jeannie (Ken) Sockoch of Edwardsville, Ill., Dennis (Sandy Rose) Dressel of Collinsville, Ill., and Douglas (Kathy) Dressel of Kirkwood, Mo.; grandchildren, Bridget and Michael Dressel, Jeremy (Jessica) Biegler, Jamie (Jimmy Martin) Biegler, Nicholas (Julienne) Dressel, Emily, Joseph and Thomas Kraudel and Matthew Sockoch; great-grandchildren, Owen, Lorelai, Evalyn and Emerson Beigler, Lilly Martin, Nicholas and Dominic Dressel; and a brother, Bill Dressel of Oklahoma.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at the church with Fr. Pat Jakel officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Black Jack, Ill.
