Donald Barsch, 71, of Troy, Ill., born April 21, 1943, in Highland, Ill., died Saturday, January 10, 2015, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Ill.
Donald was a retired union carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Edwardsville Sportsman's Club. He served his country in the United States Army, and was a member of the Troy American Legion Post 708. He enjoyed anytime spent with his nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy nee Mills, Barsch; parents, John and Martha, nee Sinskey, Barsch; four sisters, Joan Niebruegge, Mary "Jay" Sacket, "Agg" Frederking, and Barbara Schmitt; and two brothers, John "Buck" Barsch and Ronald Barsch.
Surviving are a special sister-in-law, Mary Ann Grow; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015, and an American Legion Post 708 walk through will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the funeral home, with Rev. Charles West officiating. Burial in Friedens Evangelical Cemetery, Blackjack, Ill.
