Delmar A. Meier, born Feb. 7, 1932, in Troy, IL, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Anderson Hospital.
Delmar was a dairy farmer, grain farmer, lived on the same farm all of his life. He enjoyed bowling, horseshoe, golf, and he and Verona belonged to the same pinochle card club for 46 years at present they played in an euchre club. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Troy, IL, being baptized, confirmed and married there. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Meta (Flath) Meier; a daughter, Judy Lynn in infancy; a daughter-in-law, Gail (Prott) Meier; a brother, Darwin Meier; a brother-in-law, Dwight Hanson; and a great-nephew, Glenn Markway.
Surviving are his wife, Verona Hanson Meier, whom he was united in marriage with on August 3, 1958, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Troy, IL; sons, Lonnie (special friend, Susie Heuiser) Meier, and Harvey (Jackie Westerheide) Meier; granddaughters, Sara Meier and Whitney (special friend, Nick Gipson) Meier, both of Collinsville, IL; grandson, Jake Meier of Troy, IL; a brother and sister-in-law, Ardell and Sandy Hanson of Lebanon, IL; sisters-in-law, Nadine Hanson and Edna Meier; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Funeral service 10 a.m., Saturday at the church with Rev. Mitchell Schuessler officiating. Interment in Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville.
