Obituary
Dale Henry Kurtz, 94, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born June 2, 1917, in Cuba, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Kurtz had been a department superintendent at Granite City Steel and was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill. He was a member of the American Legion Post 708 in Troy, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, nee Kueker, Kurtz; parents, Walter and Bertha, nee Busse, Kurtz; and a brother, Homer Kurtz.
Surviving are his dearest friend and caregiver, Dolores Campbell of Fairview Heights, Ill.; sons, Danny (Carol) Kurtz of Edwardsville, Ill., Richard (Sue) Kurtz of Mulberry Grove, Ill., and Thomas (Kelli) Kurtz of Edwardsville, Ill.; daughter, Gloria (William) Schneider of Grantfork, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Hospice of Southern Illinois or American Cancer Society.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Nicely officiating. Interment in Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
