Dr. C.R. "Chip" Carmichael, age 49, of Troy, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 23, 2004 at his home.
Dr. Carmichael was a family physician who owned his own practice. He also was on the hospital staff at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, Illinois and Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Illinois. He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, Illinois. In his earlier years, he was a Eagle Scout and later became a Boy Scout leader. He belonged to the Family Practice Academy.
Dr. Carmichael was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, nee Soderberg, Carmichael.
He is survived by his daughter, Caitlin Carmichael of Troy; his father and step-mother, Claude E. and Ora M. Carmichael of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; his first former wife, Claudia (Stehman) Carmichael of Troy; his second former wife, Jami Torrini of St. Jacob, Illinois; a brother, Scott (Janet) Carmichael of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two sisters, Barbara (Conrad) Eimers of Atlanta, Georgia; and Cathy (James) Pietroski of Cleveland, Ohio.
Memorials may be made to the Tri-Township Library or to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation: 4:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 27, 2004 and from 9:00 - 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Laughlin Funeral Home.
